Resiliency Flood Related Funding Resources
Several federal government entities and private foundations offer financial and technical resources to advance local adaptation and mitigation efforts. An increasing number of assistance programs are recognizing that climate-resilient investments represent good government.
Florida Resilient Coastlines Program (FRPC) Grant
Resilience Planning Grants (RPGs) are available to Florida communities that are required to have a coastal management element in their comprehensive plan. The purpose of RPGs is to promote community resilience-planning including complying with the “Peril of Flood” statute (Sec. 163.3178(2)(f) F.S.), analyzing vulnerabilities and risks, and developing plans and policies that allow communities to better handle changing coastal conditions, and recover and move forward faster following disasters. Projects should be able to be completed in 10 months.

Florida Department of Economic Opportunity – Community Planning Technical Assistance Grants
CPTA Grants provide counties, municipalities and regional planning councils the opportunity to create innovative plans and development strategies to promote a diverse economy, vibrant rural and suburban areas and meet the requirements of the Community Planning Act, while protecting environmentally sensitive areas. CPTA grants may also be used for disaster recovery or resiliency planning and economic development.
EDA Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance Programs
EDA’s Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance (EAA) programs provide economically distressed communities and regions with comprehensive and flexible resources to address a wide variety of economic needs. Projects funded by these programs will support work in Opportunity Zones and will support the mission of the Department by, among other things, leading to the creation and retention of jobs and increased private investment, advancing innovation, enhancing the manufacturing capacities of regions, providing workforce development opportunities, and growing ecosystems that attract foreign direct investment.
