Section 302 Outreach
Local Emergency Planning Committees (LEPC)
Pursuant to the Emergency Planning and Community Right-To-Know Act (EPCRA), Local Emergency Planning Committees (LEPC) are responsible for preparing regional hazardous materials emergency response plans, serve as a repository for regional hazardous materials information and perform outreach functions to increase hazardous materials awareness. LEPC membership consists of local professionals representing occupational categories such as firefighting, law enforcement, emergency management, health, transportation, facility owners and operators and others.

Facility Hazards Analysis
A hazards analysis of Section 302 Facilities is conducted at the direction of the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) every other year. The South Florida LEPC is responsible for completing this task for facilities in Monroe County. If you are a Section 302 Facility owner or operator in the Florida Keys and would like to review the information collected for your facility in the past year for omissions or errors, please contact Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) Coordinator.
