$1M in EPA Supplemental Funding Awarded to the SFRPC for Brownfields Cleanup and Redevelopment

The SFRPC is Florida’s sole Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund grantee selected in this round of EPA Brownfields supplemental funding.

The South Florida Regional Planning Council (SFRPC) has been awarded a $1 million Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) Supplemental Grant by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to supplement its existing Brownfields Cleanup Revolving Loan Fund program. The designated funds will be used for the remediation of the former Hollywood Incinerator Ash Dump (HIAD) site in Hollywood, Florida.

The SFRPC was among 31 existing Revolving Loan Fund recipients nationwide selected for supplemental funding to help advance viable cleanup projects. EPA has awarded SFRPC $8.7 million to date for its Brownfields RLF program, with this new $1 million grant adding to that total. The program provides financing for the cleanup and redevelopment of contaminated and underutilized properties across the region.
