Commissioner Oliver G. Gilbert, III, a proud Miami Gardens native, is a visionary leader and seasoned attorney with over 20 years of experience spanning real estate, municipal, constitutional, civil rights, and employment law. A graduate of Florida A&M University and the University of Miami School of Law, he has dedicated his career to public service, previously serving as Mayor of Miami Gardens and Chairman of the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners. Now serving as a County Commissioner and Chairman of both the International Trade Consortium and the Infrastructure, Innovation, and Technology Committee, Commissioner Gilbert has championed economic development, education, and urban progress, leading multiple trade missions and driving international investment into Miami-Dade County. A committed community advocate, he continues to empower residents and promote equitable growth.
