Hollywood, FL – The South Florida Regional Planning Council (SFRPC) welcomes newly appointed Monroe County Commissioner Michelle Coldiron. She replaces former County Commissioner George Neugent, who served as a member of the Council for more than 15 years and as the Chair for two terms.

“I’m honored to sit on the South Florida Regional Planning Council, and believe the knowledge I bring on top of the knowledge I will gain through participating will truly help in our collective efforts to keep South Florida clean and beautiful for years to come,” said newly appointed Council member Coldiron.

Councilmember Coldiron is passionate about the welfare of children. For years was employed by the State of Florida as a Child Advocate Coordinator for the Guardian ad Litem Program. Acting on behalf of abused children in our community, Councilmember Coldiron continues to volunteer in the program.

She is connected in her communities as she is an appointed member of the District Advisory Committee for the Tourism Development Council and serves on the Board of Directors for the Area Health Education Center. As we welcome and look forward to our work with Councilmember Coldiron, the Council is thankful for the years of service by former Councilmember and Chair Neugent.
