SFRPC staff member, Alyssa Joneswood, attended the 9th Annual Climate and Resilience Community of Practice meeting this week in Port Aransas, TX. She joined leaders from all 5 Gulf states including represenatives from NOAA’s Office of Coastal Management,  National Weather Service, Seagrant, the Economic Development Administration, Texas A&M, Florida DEP, and members of the private sector to discuss ways to improve coastal resiliency in the face of climate change.

Alyssa presented on Hurricane Irma Recovery efforts, participated in a panel discussion about hurricane recovery, and presented the SFRPC project with the Gulf of Mexico Alliance (GOMA). The SFRPC was awarded one of a handful of community small grants throughout the Gulf region to advance coastal resilience.
