Home » Mayors’ Affordable Housing Conversation
“With no land left to build housing in South Florida, the region’s mayors and other top county officials want their Tallahassee lobbyists to push state legislators to fund more apartment buildings rather than boosting single-family homeownership.”
This meeting was a continuation of the September 2022 conversation held with Mayors, elected officials, and professional staff from Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. The purpose of this meeting was to provide an opportunity for each County to share the progress that has been made over the last year, the challenges that they are working to overcome, what opportunities have presented themselves, what they have learned over the past year, and what legislative changes or additions to statutes would be helpful to their wok during the upcoming state legislative session.
