Greg Ross was elected Mayor of Cooper City in November, 2012. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, he graduated from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, and received his Juris Doctor from Nova University Law Center.
Greg held the position of Broward County Assistant State Attorney from 1980 to 1984. He opened the Law Offices of Greg Ross, P.A. in 1984. The firm is a general practice with concentration in criminal law; personal injury; collections and probate. He is a member of the Florida and New York Bar Associations, and the Federal Southern District of Florida. Greg is a member of the Florida League of Cities Board of Directors and serves on the Urban Administration Legislative Policy Committee. In 2015, Greg was honored with the Home Rule Hero Award from the Florida League of Cities for his efforts to advance the League’s legislative agenda and help protect the home rule powers of Florida’s cities during the legislative session. He was honored with the Home Rule Hero Award again in 2016. Greg is secretary of the South Florida Regional Planning Council, and involved in the C-51 Surface Water Reservoir Work Group and the Davie/Cooper City Chamber Government Economic & Community Affairs Committee.
