USACE updated numerous policy documents, guidance documents, and project support tools and resources. USACE also continued to incorporate the best available science into existing decision-making tools, made tools and documents more accessible to all, and enhanced work on nature-based solutions.

USACE Climate Action Plan 2021

This USACE Climate Action Plan details the USACE commitment to integrate the best available observed and forward looking climate information into its missions, programs, and management functions, as allowed within relevant authorities. This plan describes how climate effects and vulnerabilities are and will be considered in USACE decision making for managing procurement, real property, and public lands and waters.

Town of Bay Harbor Islands Flood Protection Information

Because Bay Harbor Islands lies entirely in a floodplain, the Town is required to have floodplain management ordinances. These ordinances, which were adopted in 1993 and subsequently updated in 2009, allow the Town to participate in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). The Town’s participation in the NFIP enables property owners to obtain flood insurance.

Part I of the Master Plan document reflects the background data and its analysis on which the Part II plan policies are based. Unlike Part II, Part I is not formally adopted by the Village Council.
