Training, Exercises and Technical Assistance
The South Florida Regional Planning Council is a resource for affordable, high-quality planning and training professionals with extensive expertise in emergency management and preparedness who are available to member local governments and stakeholders.  This assistance includes exercise and training activities designed in conjunction with the Southeast Regional Domestic Security Task Force and the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM).  The South Florida Local Emergency Planning Committee provides FREE training to public and private sector responders and many others.

As part of the Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact, the Council actively participates in climate change related pre-planning and coordinating efforts across Miami-Dade, Broward, Monroe and Palm Beach Counties.  It prepares for social, environmental and economic disturbances related to changes in climate, such as sea level rise, flooding and more.  Additionally, Council staff provides climate change resilience technical assistance to municipalities throughout the Region.

Knowing where to turn to for reliable, up-to-date emergency information is key to making it through a disaster.
