The South Florida Regional Planning Council (SFRPC), in conjunction with our partners at the 79th Street CRA and the environmental firm Cardno, participated in a brownfield site-visit, and Leasa Industries facilities tour on December 5, 2019. Both sites represent the end-to-end process of brownfields redevelopment.

The first visit, to a vacant property in the Poinciana industrial area in the Liberty City neighborhood of Miami-Dade County will be assessed under the protocols of state and national brownfields programs.

The second visit, to Leasa Industries, also located in the Poinciana industrial area provided an opportunity for Council staff to observe the benefits of our Revolving Loan Funds (RLF) programs, which Leasa Industries used to expand their facilities.

The South Florida Regional Planning Council takes pride in working with our partners in the public, private, and non-profit sectors to expand economic investment opportunities in our region.
