North Bay Village is taking proactive planning steps in adapting to sea levels rising, building on SFRPC work on current and emerging flooding. The Miami Herald and the Sun Sentinel reported on the Village’s plan using a market-based approach for improved sea wall protection on public and private property and incentivizing private owners to build higher. Christina Miskis of Council staff worked on the study that produced the map of emerging flooding that was featured in the article, through a grant from the Department of Economic Opportunity.
